Tis a bittersweet day for the Merchant household. Sweet because all my children (except for my geographically distant son) and brother/sister-law gathered together today in our home to celebrate my upcoming 64th birthday. Somewhat bitter because our family cat of 8 years is no longer with us. ( Our daughter and son-in-law, Faith and Kris, graciously took her to live in their home.) The reason was this: one of our grand daughters is very allergic to cats and therefore severely react when around them. Though we love Gracie, the cat, there was no other alternative if we were to have our home open to all our grandchildren. So thankful for Faith and Kris in this matter. - Buck and Ruth.
