Tis the season.Christmas carols are ubiquitous, bell ringers are demanding attention, and the sounds of the season are here whether welcome or no. As one who does not celebrate Christmas, I am nonetheless not immune to the beauty, magic, and hope of the season. As one who does celebrate Yule, I am equally aware of the beauty, magic, and hope that comes with any expression of love, light, hope, and inter-connectivity. My loves, this year we enter this season amid an atmosphere of cultural divisiveness that often brings tears of despair to my eyes. So I am posting this Christmas song--my absolute favorite--a little early this year. I am posting it because we all need it. /we need the reminder that no matter our differences--racial, gender, religious, political, cultural--there is ALWAYS a deeper core of unity, of connectedness, of love and light that we can cling to and use to see each other as simple human beings, trying to get through this world. I may not agree with you, I may not always understand you, but I will always choose to love you. Merry Christmas, Happy Chaunakah, Blessed Yule, Happy Kwanzaa, Merry December, Enjoy the atheist cultural traditions--but no matter what, choose love. And enjoy my contribution to the sounds of the season. Much love, my loves youtu.be/QTXhZ4uR6rs
