Tis the season for colds, pneumonia, upper respiratory infections, or even worse..the flu. Those awful body aches, fever, chills, nausea, weakness, fatigue, and headache, just to name a few symptoms. Its also a great time to bring awareness to those who live with chronic illnesses such as Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, Gastroparesis, MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Endometriosis, POTS, ALS and countless others. We feel sick EVERY day. Dont get me wrong, we have some good days too, theyre just not often. So when youre huddled under your blanket feeling miserable, or as you struggle to walk to and from the restroom, it would be a great time to reflect on those loved ones in your life who always cancel their plans last minute because they dont feel well. You know, that friend that shows up for dinner looking great, but then leaves suddenly with a strange excuse. Would YOU be able to go to dinner and a movie while having the flu or pneumonia? I encourage each of you to read the link below (even if you have before). Then call/text your loved one who struggles daily with one or more of those awful debilitating diseases...because our illnesses dont go away in 2-10 days. Most of our illnesses dont even have a cure. Just something to think about... What is a spoonie you ask? Click on the link below to get a better understanding of what its like to live with chronic pain/illness.
