Title: Director, Human Resource Services The Director of Human Resource Services provides leadership on employee benefits, development, performance management, recruitment, legal compliance, compensation, and employee relations. This position reports to the Senior Vice President Executive Affairs/General Counsel and provides HR support to the Marshal University Research Corporation. Type: Full-time, non-classified position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive fringe benefit package is provided. Required Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field •Five years progressive management/supervisory experience in full service human resources office •Proficiency with HR information systems, web technology, Excel, and Word •Working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations. •Excellent interpersonal communication skills •Commitment to personal integrity, ethical management, professionalism, and confidentiality •Ability to develop solid collaborative relationships with a diverse group of campus constituents, including faculty, staff, and students. Preferred Qualifications: •Masters degree in human resources, business administration, or related field •PHR/SPHR or other appropriate professional certification •Experience in higher education and/or community college management. •Familiarity with SunGard Banner HR Systems •Familiarity with PeopleAdmin system. Duties: The director is responsible for planning, implementing, directing and administering all aspects of Marshall University’s human resources function. Provide campus leadership in the following areas of HR administration: recruitment, compensation and benefits, ADAAA and FMLA, classification, policy communication and guidance, employee orientation, training and development programs, performance management, problem/grievance resolution, unemployment, workers compensation, and promotion of health and wellness programs. Interpret and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations governing employment. Promote collaborative, collegial, and supportive work environment. Serve as account manager.
