Title: The End of the Road While on the phone with Sidney she felt the urge to make it brief, as a force of habit, and as a result of having passionately strived for so long to live in some form of denial that bad things didnt happen to good people. She had wanted so badly to be the one others would come to with their problems and to help them find a solution to those consequences that she knew were directly attributed to their behavior. That, or nothing at all. She never really did anything to have caused others to attack her but she had to admit that she had been attacked for whatever reason and would have to force herself to cope through it whether she told herself that it was some kind of sick joke on fate or forced her to scrutinize herself and make changes accordingly. Logically, the first thing she changed was to not necessarily want to be there for anyone. Half of the reasons that triggered her anger would instantly disappear if she gave up on an image of her that would simply not materialize. Perfect then, she would only be there for herself and through loving and doing good for her own good she would exemplify to those she cared about what it all boiled down to, at the least, and that she wasnt willing to control anyone particularly when it appeared that it came at her own gain, at the most. Sidney understood her conflict and was appreciative that she wanted to be in the service of others but backed down when it did a greater harm than good. He also encouraged Enyk to continue pursuing her career and broaden her expertise as a way of fulfilling her goal to be nurturing. Sidney didnt judge her because by the time he had anything to say, Enyk had said it all. She was definitely very hard on herself and if she couldnt be the role model for anyone she certainly wouldnt be requiring anyone to serve as her guide, particularly when the local drug dealing gang operated in such a way as to making their threats be of a meek character that lived in self doubt. Sydney knew that such misconception from others as to her image as well as their believes about her self-perception was certainly a cause of concern but admired how Enyk managed to pull through it and reflect it back as a normal stage in her life as a person and as a parent.
