Titus 2:11-14 ESV For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. Balance is not a word of compromise. It is a word of maturity. Grace must be preached as a reality of freedom from the demands of the law and the realities that are found in the finished work of Christ Jesus. However, the catch is immature men and women use such positional truth as occasions for the flesh. It may not be the intention of those who announce Grace as the new wave but it is the reality. Yes and you are responsible for your hearers. 1 Timothy 4:16 ESV Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers. Paul cautioned Timothy to keep a close watch on himself and what he taught. This is not saying to back away from what you hear the Spirit of God instructing your heart to share. Look at your audience and do not give them anything to strengthen their fleshly cravings and desires. Paul told Titus that Grace was a teacher/trainer who instructs each of us how to RENOUNCE worldliness and ungodliness. If this be so, then we must not only preach Grace as Gods favor and ability to live in throne life and freedom, but we must also define worldliness and its obvious opposition to life lived in Christ. Balance my brothers does not make you a preacher of the law. It makes you an able minister of the Gospel.
