Tl;dr Just met Kaskade. Nicest guy ever. And Ive met a good amount of people. Long story - Back in May I attended Mysteryland with my girlfriend. Closing off stages were Dillstradamus and Kaskade (and some other options). I was front row at Dillstradamus and vibes were straight terrible. Wound up leaving after 15 minutes and giving our spots to 2 new friends from earlier that day. They wound up getting pictures of Dillstradamus making it rain on them, plus one of the first white shirts with a hand drawn picture. Kaskades vibes and set were way better. Still... felt really uneasy about our choice, even though I knew why we left. Today my gf and I were walking and decided to get cereal ice cream at Momofuku. If you havent been there, do it whenever youre in NYC. Right next to us I notice Ryan standing on his own. Start talking to him about Redux and how Ive been listening to him since 08, how Stepping Out was one of my favorite songs back then. He goes, are you going to my show tomorrow? As in the Redux show Ive been following since the start, but never felt like I could afford (GA is $100 here). So I reply, No, it was that or New Years plans. Immediately think to myself I gave a rude response. Before I apologize he goes, Oh, well I can give you guys 2 tickets. Talk to my manager. Gave him the biggest hug and still am in shock, like 30 minutes later. Number 1 DJ in America, and damn well deserves it.
