To Admin - I would like to post this on WAERA site if that is allowed. I was wondering if people ride other peoples horses for them in Endurance? This is my beautiful boy Dusty. I have had Dusty for 4 years, growing him and enjoying this lovely horse. He is now 8. This year I have worked extensively for 7 months on Ground Work using the Warrick Schiller training GW programme and he is now at Balleroo being started under saddle. This video was from last week. I am just so pleased with how he is going and how he has taken on board all the training. It is my hope that Dusty will be out doing first Endurance next year with WAERA. I hope to do the first few rides 20km myself but I am hampered somewhat with hip issues and am probably thinking of having someone else ride him for me as we see how he copes with the whole thing. He is far too good to waste plodding around on a bush trail and looking pretty in a paddock. And I think he enjoys being out very much. He has always been barefoot, I follow GravelProof diet, he lives up in the hills on the border of the National Park and on rock, gravel and honky nuts and has excellent feet, just glides over everything. He is ridden bitless and as you can see in the video he is very responsive having been taught lateral flexion and disengaging first. He is desensitised to most things in life, very used to the bush and trails and a pretty chilled boy. But young and not perfect. So this is Dusty. I do not want to sell him. He is still green and is being educated. I am interested to hear of or meet some experienced and kind endurance riders who may be looking for a ride next year on a young boy. Someone who is familiar with the way he has been trained and started and would care for this boy on a ride. I would continue to train him and happy to strap on rides. He is a full arab originated from SA, with a great temperament. Please feel free to pm me to chat about him.
