To All My Facebook Family and Friends: First, thank you for the Birthday wishes. You are all too kind! I appreciate your friendship and your faithfulness – it’s great to know I have such good friends around me. Second, it was a very difficult birthday – not only because another year was added to my numerical age, because after all age is only a number, right? No, what made it difficult was that I lost my only sister, only sibling, very suddenly and unexpectedly two days before. I’d spoken to Sharon the very evening before her passing and she was doing great, no problems to speak of only optimism and the changes she saw coming in her life and career. We still do not know the cause of her death though that is a far, far second place to the fact that she’s no longer with us. She was 3 years younger than me and we were close even though she lived in New Hampshire. She’s survived by a daughter Penelope (Pennie), 22, who I know is devastated and misses her Mom dearly, family and friends in NH and our home state of Michigan. Please pray for Gods’ Hand of Strength, Mercy and Peace for the family and especially Pennie in this time of grief. I’ll post the arrangements for services as they are finalized. Her final burial will be in Grand Rapids, MI – our home town – in Plainfield Cemetery alongside our Dad and Mom and only four blocks from where we grew up. Thank you for your prayers and support!
