To: All attendees, licensees, vendors, and anyone and everyone involved with Epic Festival, August 30th, 2014 at The Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo Center. It is with a heavy heart that Epic regrets to inform you that the festival for August 30th 2014 will not take place because we have been shut down by The Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue Department. Despite our initial contact about a year ago, the Fire Rescue Department has just now notified us that we would be requiring an additional “Life Safety Evaluation” which would take 3 to 4 months to conduct (in addition to all the permits which were successfully submitted throughout the year). This particular evaluation is basically unheard of, and has never been needed before at the venue (even for much larger events). The unbelievable timing, impossible parameters and crucial importance of this information is truly shocking to us all and leads us to believe that “other outside entities” are involved and partially responsible for this sudden “change” in policy… Entities that do not want Epic Festival 2014 to occur. Nevertheless, we at Epic are diligently working on returning everyone’s funds as quickly as possible. However, we humbly and respectfully ask that you PLEASE, have patience with us throughout this process. Again, we are very sorry about what has transpired, but know it was out of our control and we have no words to express our sorrow. Thank you all for your patience, cooperation and understanding.
