To All the Mothers of this World who have Daughters - Didnt you tell us as little girls to learn self-defense and go to any extent to punish anyone who violated our bodies, be it a husband.. a lover ... an uncle ...or even a brother ? Did you not teach us not to wait for law of the land or a petty cop ... but to go ahead and stick a safety pin deep into the worthless body of a skunk who was attempting to press his dirty swollen dick against our young bodies when we travelled by public transport ? O Mother, then why did you all not stand up for 26 yr old Reyhaneh who was hanged becoz she stabbed someone in self defense ? Looks like reality is different from what you made it out to be Mother ! Not you ... not the mighty superpower US...not the International Amnesty. ..not a global furore ...not the social media uproar ...none could save this young woman from being hanged ... O Mother .. please wait for the world to change before you give me those long sermons on self defense or send me to martial art classes ... O Mother ... let me hide behind those burkhas and ghoonghats and let the Sharia or khap panchayats teach me the norms of how a woman must live ... O Mother ....
