To All who Shall Read: I sit here and contemplate all of the FB - TopicsExpress

To All who Shall Read: I sit here and contemplate all of the FB posts, the media responses, the anger, the bitterness, and frustrations that go out towards Mr. Zimmerman. Personally, I’m not afraid to die. There are just certain ways I don’t want to die. Why is that important? If Trayvon Martin had died because of cancer, he would never have made the news. If it was suicide, you might not have ever heard about it. It is a specific kind of death that has caused uproar in our nation and while we cannot take that away or change that fact, there is one simple fact that we fail to see. “The Lord gave and The Lord hath taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord.” Keep that in light of this other scripture that says “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. So we look at George Zimmerman and we’re upset because he was found not guilty. I heard individuals who can’t understand how a 6 woman panel could rule in such a way. Media broadcast that he had a black female volunteer on his defense team. And we fail to miss, God knew who would be on the defense team, he knew who would be in the jury, he allowed a decision that would only take 16 hours and HE allowed George Zimmerman to be found not guilty. What’s even more amazing is that a lot of people are upset that George Zimmerman for a moment has received GRACE. A grace that we all so freely enjoy on a daily basis. (The saint AND the sinner) That is “unmerited favor” “Not getting what we deserve”. We’re upset because he “Deserved” jail but he didn’t get it. And I ask myself now, what do I deserve that I have not gotten. So my plea is not to defend what has happened but to say let us be ok not just by words but in our heart with what God has allowed. I saw a brilliant post just today that stated “because of this it has caused me to be a better person.” A pastor friend of mine stated “There is no meaningless event in the life of a believer.” While the situation did not impact most of us personally, God brought impact and purpose to entire nation through this one event. God called Trayvon Martin home and in the process changed the lives of many. Whether it be young people who give their life to him because death has no age limit, or parents who are closer to their children now because you just never know or whether neighborhood watches change their procedures, God has impacted many and another young man goes home to be with the Lord. My prayer is that God would comfort the hearts and bring peace to the minds of those who are uneasy about all of this. And I conclude with the way I started THE LORD GAVE AND THE LORD TAKETH AWAY, BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD.
