To: Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations Chief - TopicsExpress

To: Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations Chief Navi Pillay, Office of the High Commission for Human Rights Judge Sang-Hyun Song, President, International Criminal Court Mrs. Fatou Bensouda, Chief Prosecutor, International Criminal Court Ms. Hilal Elver, Special Rapporteur on Right to Food We, the people of the world, citizens of numerous countries and various continents, respectfully demand that Monsanto be held accountable for repeated offenses and criminal conduct against humanity due to major environmental, health and genetic hazards released by Monsanto, into the atmosphere and food supply. We request Monsanto be assessed and charged with the applicable crimes against humanity they have committed. We refuse to be part of Monsantos crimes against humanity and do whole-heartedly object to Monsantos activities, business practices and lack of moral regard for human life. Dozens of countries have already banned Monsantos genetically engineered (GE) foods and crops. However, they still continue to operate unchecked and unregulated in numerous regions with impunity despite the fact that science has shown their efforts are detrimental to activities. Furthermore, GE prohibitions do not address the unprecedented chemical releases of pesticides produced by Monsanto. Over 1,300 studies have raised cause for concern regarding GE related pesticides and GE food consumption in animal studies. We are deeply concerned that similar long-term consumption of their food, exposure to chemicals and foreign agents engineered into their food and utilized in the production of their product will jeopardize global human health, welfare, safety and the environment. Due to lack of scientific consensus on the safety of GMO foods and undisputed consensus that the pesticides they manufacture are linked to numerous health risks including birth defects and cancer, we hereby request that Monsanto be held liable for their criminal activities in the International Criminal Court. Profit at any cost is an unacceptable justification for potentially irreversible harm to the environment and human health in addition to the unacceptable genetic and nutritional degradation of our food supply. This is unacceptable. We refer you to the following: •Article 11 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights put forth by the United Nations states that EVERYONE has the right to adequate food and to be free from hunger. Article 12 recognizes the right of EVERYONE to enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health. •Monsantos activities are direct violation of these Articles and furthermore exploits Article 11: 2a and 2b for financial profit cloaking their company as utilizing progressive technologies to end hunger despite the lack of scientific consensus on GE safety and widespread global rejection of their products. Additional and acute concerns include pesticide related environmental poisoning, directly contributing to the decline of bee populations, which promotes crop failure through lack of cross-pollination, loss of biodiversity and potentially eventual increased food shortages. •Not only are Monsantos activities violations of these articles but they violate EVERYONES RIGHTS as put forth under Article 3 under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of persons. We furthermore request an immediate moratorium and all available legal restrictions be placed upon the corporations use of genetic engineering technology and manufacturing of pesticides until the UN has thoroughly investigated Monsanto and the long-term effects of their products can be fully known and verified. Sincerely, Matthieu Cameron
