Tail wagging and already kissing my hand, no treats involved…He was afraid to jump into my arms to bring him down to the ground...When I read his kennel card, his listed 45 pounds puzzled me too. Then, only , I understood his given name. Stevie is a compact, lean and muscular dog with a very serious face that one can not undo….How misleading…Stevie is not mean. He has a golden heart, is super sociable, friendly, affectionate and playful. He is a great lap dog and loves to kiss and be kissed. He plays nicely with the tennis ball and does not guard it. As a matter of fact, he aced his behavioral evaluation and can be found in the adoption quarters. Stevie is really cute, clad in the silkiest and well groomed darkest chocolate coat. He loves treats and will sit or stand on his hinds for them. He walks nicely on the leash and might be house trained. I really think that Stevie, the petite Pitie with a serious face, will make a top of the line forever best friend. Come and meet him at the Manhattan Care Center and take him home. Another volunteer writes: When staff tells me that a dog is special, I know I have to meet that dog. Indeed, Steve is one special little guy! Gorgeous is his gleaming brown/black coat, wagging tail and perfect physique, he has a high step as if he had been a Lipizzaner Stallion in another life. Graceful, elegant and so unique, its amazing and fun to watch him prance. As I approached his kennel his happy pleased to meet you, I see youre coming to take me out wiggle butt was great. I wish all my friends were that happy to see me! Hes likely housetrained, sits on command, takes treats gently, loves to snuggle and drape himself into the nearest available lap and give kisses, Steve is a lovebug! Playbowing to other dogs who stop by our pen to say hello, Steve seems appropriate in everything he does. So appropriate that he earned a rockstar behavior assessment, indicating hell be a good fit in just about any home.
