To Be Seventy Again When Oliver Wendell Holmes, the early - TopicsExpress

To Be Seventy Again When Oliver Wendell Holmes, the early twentieth century Supreme Court Justice, was eighty-six when he went walking with another elderly friend. As they passed a pretty young girl Judge Holmes, whose wife had died a year earlier, said to his friend, Oh, to be seventy again! Dont you love that story! It gives you hope, doesnt it?! I walked to the top of Mt. Vesuvius the other day. I was feeling quite proud of myself, because I was the oldest person that I had seen on the hike. Just then, Methuselahs mother passed me like I was standing still. Just because you are old doesnt mean you are dead.
