To Educated Liberians : Get Over It and Simply Respect The Voters This myth that ordinary voters does not understand the issues, and simply vote based on some kind of emotional and vain appeal, is patently false and demonstrates sheer arrogance and lack of understanding about why the socalled educated Liberians cannot excite, motivate, and persuade ordinary Liberians. This uneducated viewpoint that ordinary Liberians do not understand the issues but simply vote for anyone is ludicrous and insane. The fact is democratic elections all over the whole is about likability and popularity; this is why the person with the greatest numbers always win. Only dummies will continue to hold such insulting and perverse view that ordinary Liberians do not understand the issues. If the people did not understand the issue: then why they voted out a bunch of incompetent senators out of power? If the people were so stupid and lack understanding of the own suffering conditions: then why the people did not re-elect a bunch of failed senators who could not deliver basic social services to the people? So far, we saw in 2011, ordinary voters did not return a huge majority of the lawmakers to power and repeated the same JUDGMENT in 2014. This is because the voters clearly understands the issues, and know that they wake up everyday hungry-without jobs to earn a decent living and pay their children health cost; ordinary voters understand the issue of poor or no healthcare delivery in the country leaving them without a place to take their sick children for medical care; ordinary voters understand the issues that education is a mess and no money to even send their children to the messy education in the country; ordinary Liberians ride in old and broken down cars everyday on bad roads; and all the other failure of elected leaders. So far the only group of Liberians that do not understand the issues are the professed educated Liberians and so called intelligentsia, The real uneducated Liberians are those relying on their second hand knowledge, gained as a result of attaining some terminal degrees at some university but they have no common sense. The people do not have to attend a university to earn a degree to know that they are hungry, that their children are sick and need care, that they ride on bad roads everyday.
