To Jhamile Arias & Hugo Dusk my Spanish is nonexistent and I only speak English, so I hope you two understand...... My Jazz roots are steeped in percussion ...I started out listening to the African rhythms of Olatunji then to Mongo Santamaria and later to Tito Puente ... Eventually all the standard Jazz being played by my mom sunk in and I started listening to Miles, Trane, etc. ....... This song is one of my new favorites (Time Shifter) because of the haunting melody of the bass player and the syncopated rhythms of the percussionists. ..... It also reminds me of Herbie Manns After the Carnival and Mongo Santamarias Jungle Bit.... I hope you two enjoy it.
