When the first officer arrived on scene, he believed he observed the silhouette of a possible suspect, through a window, but the suspect quickly disappeared into the dark interior of the building. In short order, Manitowoc Police had the building surrounded, and a small team of officers began searching the interior of the building, while other officers maintained watch on the building’s perimeter. When officers reached the top floor of the building, they came upon three intruders hiding in the dark, and took them into custody without incident. It was determined a fourth suspect had fled into the darkness, but officers found him hiding on the roof moments later and took him into custody as well. All four suspects were local Manitowoc men, ranging in age from late teens to early twenties. They were all booked at the police department, and later released on citations for Trespassing and Underage Drinking. The four suspects indicated they had just entered the building through an obscure opening in order to explore the architectural design of the age old building. Lieutenant Craig Jansen
