To Love As God Loves (Pt10) Love…Rejoice Not In Iniquity (1 Cor 13:6) 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 (4) Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (5) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; (6) REJOICETH NOT IN INIQUITY. It can be real tempting to find joy when someone we don’t like falls or goes in the wrong direction. Proverbs 24:17 states ” Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth”. We are to do good to all men (Gal 6:10). Our love should be for the same thing Jesus died for, for us to be saved (John 3:16). We should find joy when others show love for God by keeping His commandments (1 John 5:3), not the failings or shortcoming of others in keeping God’s commandments (Prov 24:17). Let’s have a love to rejoice and support good and not iniquity. Let our joy be when others are walking in His truth as in 2 John 4-6: (4) I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. (5) And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. (6) And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
