To Mr Noberto De Castro: My good sir let you have surprised me with these statements and I shall place my reactions and thoughts accordingly - “People can drive through red lights, stop in the middle of the road, run over pedestrians, you know, anything. You don’t even have to be in your car. If it suits you, you can exit your vehicle and release your rage by shooting up drivers who’re going too slow.” -In the first line alone you have proven so many caring motorists and civilians right. Right about the idea that there are really people in the government who does not think things through. Have you even thought about the long-term effect of these things: 1. Driving through red lights - did you even think of the probable number of deaths that this can cause? I think yes and that is exactly what you want... To lessen the number of people. Right? Not even thinking about the money that these people would be spending and that goes without saying, the budget that will be used to clean up the mess. 2. To stop in the middle of the road - another effect shall be crashed up vehicles and yes there is a possibility that people can get hurt too. Oh I forgot you WANTED that to happen too. To lessen the number of vehicles and as I quote the lines above, Not even thinking about the money that these people would be spending and that goes without saying, the budget that will be used to clean up the mess. Such a GENIUS! *slow clap* 3. Not to be in the car - this might be the smartest thing to do when your not-so-good resolution gets approved 4. Exit the vehicles and shoot drivers - This sir is perfect. So perfect that I do not have any words to describe the engenuity of your mind. Your wisdom is so perfect that I can align you with these characters: a. Tigger (from Winnie the Pooh); b. Nobita and Damulag(from Doraemon); c. Alfred (from Ghost fighter); and many more fictional characters and I think the readers understand how SMART you are. “ We predict that by the end of the day, there will be 20% less vehicles on the road, more than enough to solve our current traffic crisis.” -This my kind sir is at least 60%-75% accurate. Yes in your assumption there will be 20% less vehicles and most probably 30%-35% less people. Although I am sure that it is your goal and that you have actually thought about the inverse proportion of the finances that will be involved in such events “Of course, we’ll be doing a small trial run in Katipunan first, just to work out the kinks.” He then went on to count the merits of the innovative program, such as its cheapness and simplicity, among others. “I can finally give our MMDA constables some much needed rest. They’ve been worn down from days of standing there in the middle of the street, taking abuse from angry drivers and such. I think they’ll enjoy this project the most. People will have a renewed respect for the rule of law after we roll this plan out.” -To prove your wits you would really have a beta test for this? Sounds great! At least you will see for yourself that everyone can actually fight in peace and also that your quick fix for the problem shows that you have everything under control. *Applause* To you sir this line: “I can finally give our MMDA constables some much needed rest. People will have a renewed respect for the rule of law after we roll this plan out.” -Your beloved MMDA constables need not rest for they have all the rest they can get. They stand in the middle of the streets because THAT IS THEIR JOB, but ironically they sit down with their colleagues (which is not really a part of the protocol) waiting to pounce on their next victim. The abuse from angry drivers, I assure you has a perfectly logical reason and root cause. Well I think there will be advantages for everyone when your Purge-like law is approved. At least the angry drivers can get their steam off by driving off the pedestrian lane and running your MMDA constables off the road, or after exiting their cars they just pick up their guns and shoot your ever so tired MMDA constables and simply release the RAGE.
