To My MCHS Family, As you know, a couple weeks ago, I lost my grandbaby Hayden in a tragic accident; I want to personally thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, flowers and donations. The shock and trauma of this sudden loss was immense, and the uncertainty of how to pay for a funeral intensified our grief. Your help has meant so much to my family, and especially to me. Hayden was a precious eleven year old full of energy and the joy of life. We will miss seeing him play football for Smyrna, hearing him practicing on the drums or waiting for him to tell another one of those jokes that a child his age likes to tell. He liked a challenge and had a competitive spirit that he learned from playing with the older brothers who he looked up to. He was also very caring, and learned compassion and affection from his mothers. What many will remember most, however, was his ever present smile. It was one that could bring out smiles in others no matter what kind of a day they were having. Right now we are grieving his loss, but in time it will be all of the many happy moments that we will remember most. I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to you for giving us the ability to focus on each other in remembering and saying goodbye to Hayden. Your care and compassion replaced the uncertainty we felt with a knowledge that we could get through this together. You let us know that we were not alone, and from that we gained strength. I always knew I was part of an amazing community, but now I know I am part of an amazing FAMILY, the MCHS Family. I feel it in a way I can never fully express. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all that you have done for me and for my family.
