To Niki: I just want to take this opportunity on your birthday to tell you, once again, how blessed I am to be your mother!! I knew your birth mother, Doris Trosen Lantz* well and loved her. In fact, she and I were room mates in Bible College. You were truly a "miracle baby." When Dori was a few months along in her pregnancy with you, she was operated on to have a four pound cancerous tumor removed from her uterus, where it had been found along with you. The doctors did not think that you would survive the surgery. BUT YOU DID, PRAISE THE LORD!!!! Then a little over a year after Dori went to glory to be with Jesus, your Daddy, James Lanz, and i were married. You were an adorable 19 month old child. You were, then, and have been ever since, one of my great pleasures in MY life and truly, for me, a gift from God!! And the blessing of that gift continues on to this day!!! Niki, I love you and trust that you will have a very, very blessed day today!!! ~~~from you MOM, *Your Dad had changed his name to Lantz sometime before he and Dori were married. When we were going to be married he asked me how I wanted our name to be spelled. I, thinking that his mother was not pleased that he had changed the spelling of his name, asked him that we go back to the original spelling, Lanz. We did and had to add an affidavit to your birth certificate to indicate that your last name was Lanz. Now, of course, you have a good name, Elliott.I appreciate Gordon and your family, too!!
