To Our Family, Friends, Patrons, & Community, It has been a tremendous year for all of us here at True Grits and we want to thank everyone for the support and love you all have given us. When we started discussing the idea of opening up a restaurant we didn’t realize the challenges that would come with it; we just knew we wanted to open a place where we could share our love for southern food and hospitality. In the past year we have been able to accomplish that goal successfully with a few minor setbacks. We all here at True Grits have learned so many things in the past year; most importantly, that it takes more than kindness, hard work, and great food to succeed in such a competitive industry but it takes good business relationships with the right people and the right location. Recently, as all of you are aware, we made a conscious business decision to change our regular days and hours to a summer schedule based on revenue and demand. However, within the last few days, we have been notified that the terms of our lease agreement that we would have been renewing on July 1, 2014 have been substantially altered. We have diligently been trying to negotiate the terms unfortunately no agreement can be reached at this time. Therefore it saddens me to say that we will be closing our current True Grits location as of today, June 22, 2014. We are, however, in the process of searching for a new location and already have a few possibilities so that we can get back to serving the food that you all love so much. We all here a True Grits ask that you all be patient while we try to continue our journey for a place that we can truly call our own and that will give us the opportunity to do what we do best. Please keep in touch as we will continue to keep all of you updated over the next couple of months as to how our search is going and where our new location will be. Again thank you all for the support you have given us we can’t express our gratitude enough.
