To: Parents of K2 children Re: Important information As part of our efforts to prepare our children from formal education, the following programmes are implemented during curriculum time: Bully Workshop (Conducted by WINGS) This one-hour programme will be conducted on October 7, 8, 10 and 11. This programme helps our children to identify bullies and what should be their action/ reaction. Visit to Rivervale Primary School All K2 children will go on a field trip to Rivervale Primary School on Wednesday – October 9th. Children should be dressed in their PE attire and bring $2/= to be spent in the Rivervale Primary school canteen. If you do NOT wish your child to participate in this field trip please send an email [email protected] by Tuesday 8th October 2013. Silent Reading (Every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) 10 minutes of Silent Reading will be conducted for all K2 children after assembly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, commencing Thursday – 10th October 2013. Every K2 child must bring a book that he/she can read independently during this 10 minute of silent reading. This will continue till the end of term 4. Gearing Up for Primary 1 (October 21 to 25) The week of October 21 to 25, will be dedicated to simulating a primary school setting for our K2 children. This programme focuses on reinforcing self-help skills, money concepts and how to make wise choices in the school canteen. Details will be released shortly. Sarada Kindergarten has been organizing these in-curriculum programmes to help our K2 children’s smooth transit to Primary school and many have been benefited from this.
