To Play Or Not To Play: Thank you for your feedback! To answer your questions, please read below: Town of Sundre Playground Park Replacement Program Who: The Town of Sundre has determined that the playgrounds in Sundre will need full or partial replacement What: Play equipment for youth 2 years old to 12 years old (and beyond) 1 slide (minimum) 1 set of swings (minimum) 1 bench 1 garbage / recycling container 1 signage safety surfacing When and Where: 2014 Bergen Park 120 5TH ST SE & Greenwood Park 139 Centre ST S 2015 Tree Park 3211ST NE & Harveys Park 321 1ST AVE NE 2016 Betty Rose Park 612 5 AVE SW & North End Park 214 10TH AVE NE. 2017 Tall Timber Park 1109 1ST AVE NE & Garnham Park 200 Block and 4ST NW in CUL DE SAC. 2018 59 Lot Park Behind 5TH ST NW CUL DE SAC & Lions Park Between 3RD AVE SW . 2019 Royal Purple Park 8TH AVE NE & Prairie Creek Park 4TH ST & 3RD AVE NE. 2020 Arena Park #1 101 2ND AVE NW & Eyebrow Park 11A AVE NE. Why: Safety Inspections conducted by a certified Canadian Playground Safety Institute inspector have identified concerns with our existing playgrounds and recommendations based on those concerns. Some of the playgrounds require full replacement while others may only require partial or piece replacement. How: The Town of Sundre has dedicated up to $100,000 for the next 3 years (2014-2016) for playground replacement but this money can go much further with our new up and coming Sponsorship Plan. Stay posted for details on the Sponsorship Plan and opportunities to assist. In addition to the Sponsorship Plan, the other option the Town has chosen that will assist in making that funding go much further is the Community Install Option. This is the communities opportunity to help us install the equipment under the supervision of a certified installer and inspector. This allows us to infuse approximately $6,000 back into each playground. How exciting is that! Stay posted for details on Install dates and opportunities. Once again, if there are any questions, comments or inquiries, please contact Jacci Hager, Manager of Community Services for the Town of Sundre at 403 638 4707 or at jacci.h@sundre
