To: Sheriff Don Smith - I respect you for always running a positive campaign and always running on real issues of the day and on experience that matters to protect all the citizens of Putnam County. But, If your opponent is failing to campaign on his experience or real issues, there is not much to discuss. When your opponent misstates his experience, I feel you must bring this issue to light so the voters can see the true character of who their alternative choice is. So Sheriff, I urge you to bring this issue into the campaign and share this with voters and the press, it is about time for some fair and equal coverage in this years race for Sheriff. Now Why does Kevin say he served 3.5 years as the MTA Police Chief, When in fact he only was officially in that position for only 2 years? The Facts are just a google or a FOIA away.... From MTA Press Release: Metropolitan Transportation Authority Chairman Peter S. Kalikow announced today the appointment of Kevin McConville as Chief of MTA Police on October 7,2005. Source: new.mta.info/press-release/mta-headquarters/kevin-mcconville-named-mta-police-chief From MTA Press Release: Deputy Chief Ronald J. Masciana had been serving as Acting Chief of Police since the departure of Chief Kevin McConville in early October 2007. Source: new.mta.info/press-release/mta-headquarters/michael-r-coan-appointed-chief-mta-police-department. Conclusion: Either Kevin lied to the press and people and overstated his time as the official MTA Police Chief or Kevin simply is not good at math. Two Years as the MTA Chief is not good enough for Putnam County and worse we must have the highest degree of knowledge, skills, experience and especially integrity in the office of Sheriff and it starts with not over inflating ones personal resume for personal gain.
