To Shri K Chandrasekhar Rao, Honble Chief Minister, Govt of Telangana State. Dear Sir, Sub: Problems being faced by people due to Hyderabad Metro Rail works on Nalgonda X Road to Chaderghat Bridge Stretch, Req-Reg I would like to draw your immediate attention to the problem being faced by thousands of commuters and local residents due to the ongoing works of Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) by L&T Company on Dilsukhnagar - Nalgonda X Road – Chaderghat Bridge. To facilitate the works, the Hyderabad Traffic Police has blocked completed one side of the road from Chaderghat Bridge to Malakpet Railway Station for the general traffic and also damaged the entire three parks at Chaderghat Chaman. This has thrown the traffic system out of gear in the entire area. While it is taking several hours to cross the stretch from Dilshuk Nagar to Chaderghat Bridge via Nalgonda X-Road, the surrounding localities and roads are facing huge inconvenience due to this traffic mayhem. The otherwise smooth, Azampura RUB and Dabeerpura ROB too are witnessing a huge increase in the vehicular traffic and pollution. The Chaderghat Bridge, which connects Old City and new city, is witnessing heavy traffic jams from early morning to late night. The bridge connects new city with two parliamentary constituency and Seven Assembly segments of old city. However, no steps are being taken to prevent the traffic jams by HMR or the Traffic Police. It is taking up to three to four hours to reach Chaderghat from Dilshuk Nagar via Nalgonda X road. The HMR authorities have closed one side of the road without informing the general public about it. The heavy traffic jams on almost every hour of the day is causing severe inconvenience to the people, especially the office goers and school children. Shockingly, the presence of traffic policemen on the entire stretch is almost nil. Despite bringing the said problem to the notice of Sri M Mahender Reddy IPS, Commissioner of Police Hyderabad, Sri Somesh Kumar IAS and Sri N V S Reddy, no steps were taken to regulate the traffic on the above mentioned road. The HMR authorities are so careless in executing the works, that they had badly damaged the entire stretch of available road. The vehicle users, especially those riding two-wheelers, are facing serious health problems like spondylitis, joint pains and dust allergy The said matter was brought to the notice of Sri Mohammed Mehmood Ali (Dy Chief Minister, Govt of Telangana). This is highly strange that the authorities have ignored the directions given by Deputy Chief Minister Mr Mahmood Ali, who stays in the same area Azampura, on taking corrective steps. There is no adequate presence of traffic cops and they are visible only during the movement of VIPs like judges. Sir, I would like to state that this area of the Old City is being discriminated and neglected. Thousands of people living in these areas are facing problems and they are expecting some stern action in this regard. Therefore, we request you to kindly issue necessary directions to end the step-motherly treatment to the old city. We also request you to kindly make a surprise visit to this area. Further the Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation may also be directed to take up re-carpeting the entire stretch from Dilshuk Nagar to Chaderghat Bridge via Nalgonda X Road. Thanking You Yours Sincerely AMJED ULLAH KHAN (Ex Corporator) MBT Party Copy to: 1) Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad. 2) Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. 3) Managing Director, Hyderabad Metro Rail.
