To The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, 124,Swarna Jayanthi Complex,Maitri Vananm,Ameerpet, Hyderabad,Govt of Telangana State. Dear Sir, Sub: Engaging of child labour during Numaish-2015, Necessary action against Managing Committee Members of All India Industrial Exhibition (AIIE) and Stall Owners, Req-Reg. Ref: Photos of Child labour being engaged by Numaish-2015 being run by All India Industrial Exhibition Society. With subject and reference cited above I would like to bring to your kind notice that several stalls in the Numaish-2015 managed by Secretary, All India Industrial Exhibition at Nampally are engaging the services of child labour. Several children, including girls, of below 14 years, can be found working at various stalls and even in the office of All India Industrial Exhibition Club. I was more astonished when I found the Girls wearing School Dress were seen working in the Numaish-2015 and AIIE Club premises during the School hours. At some stalls, they are being assigned labours tasks like carrying heavy-weighing articles. They are also being engaged in cleaning and maintenance works during the day time. I have also found that the children’s are being used to clean toilets of the All India Industrial Exhibition (Numaish-2015) . In other cases, the children are being forced to work in evening shift from 4 PM till midnight. The Exhibition Society claims to run 18 Educational Institutions from the annual income generated by Numaish every year and promises to educated poor children’s are themselves engaging child labour is a very heinous crime towards children’s. The Labour Department has turned Blind Eye even after the matter of Child Labour being engaged by AIIE being reported by Print and electronic Media. Engaging of Child Labour is violation of Article 21 A of the Indian Constitution and Right To Education Act (RTE) which guarantees free and compulsory Education for Children’s between 6 and 14 Years. It also violates The Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act 1986 and rules. PRAYER 1) An Explanation should be called from Commissioner of Labour, Labour Department, Govt of Telangana as to why no action has been taken against the Secretary, All India Industrial Exhibition Society and Stall owners against engaging Child labour during the Numaish-2015 and also in the premises of AIIE Club inspite of matter being reported in Social media, Print and Electronic Media. 2) Necessary Explanation should be called from the Secretary, All India Industrial Exhibition against violation of Article 21 A of the Indian Constitution and Right To Education Act (RTE) which guarantees free and compulsory Education for Children’s between 6 and 14 Years and also violation of The Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act 1986 and rules. 3) Necessary steps to be taken so that no stalls or All India Industrial Exhibition Society engages Child Labour during Numaish or any other activity. . Thanking You Yours Sincerely AMJED ULLAH KHAN (Ex Corporator)
