To act as if we do not know what has been done to Afrikan people - TopicsExpress

To act as if we do not know what has been done to Afrikan people is treason. To act as if we cannot see the genocidal plans others have in store for Afrikan people is treason. To allow our children to be spiritually, mentally and physically enslaved and subjected to a racism based on white, or any other, supremacy is treason. To forgive the unforgivable and forget the unforgettable is treason. To embrace those who have always been our enemies in hopes of gaining their love at our expense is treason. To act as if Afrikans are just another people and pretend that being European is being human is treason. To selectively honor only the names of those who protected and served european ideals and society and compromised an empowering Afrikan vision as our true heroes and sheroes is treason. To despise those courageous enough to challenge us to be the divinity and genius within, and not only conspicuously the material without, is treason. To care for the monuments, words and images of the ancestors of those who worked so diligently to destroy our Ancestors or whose pain was/is incomparable is treason. To hate our essence and appearance is treason. To know all of these things and do nothing to liberate, empower and make sovereign Afrikan people is treason. --Baba Mwalimu Baruti -- IWA: A Warriors Character.
