To add to my statement yesterday about the Spoon River Drive signs - TopicsExpress

To add to my statement yesterday about the Spoon River Drive signs and arrows disappearing, we had a loss too. John and all the people involved in the Civil War era cemetery tour do it with no pay, but for their love of history. They all invest their own money into their costumes and props and many hours of labor. After the tour yesterday, John stopped uptown, his Civil War saddle and all the old tack locked in our car. However, the big saddle stand made for us by Kent Thomas was in the truck and too large for the truck to close. Also in there was Johns bright yellow rope-type breast collar for his horse. In a matter of a few minutes, someone reached in and took the breast collar. For what purpose? They probably didnt even know what it was. It is important to us, no one else. Just like when I surprised John one Christmas with a replica of a Civil War hand gun and one of three boys we paid to help us move took it. These are things we worked and paid for that have meaning only to us. Now we know why people stop trying to do things for this town. What a disappointment. And shame on those thieves.
