To all Members of HFRRF, Below you will find one of the many terrible issues regarding the newly proposed retirement plan that was presented today : Governance Issues: The Board will consist of 5 appointed committee members. 1. ( One ) Sr employee from Finance Dept. 2. ( One ) Sr employee from HR Dept. 3. ( One ) Firefighter appointee. 4. ( One ) Mayoral appointee with Council approval 5. ( One ) Independent Controller appointee with Council approval. This Board makeup is absolutely ridiculous. The HFRRF Board will have no control at all. This is the worst proposal for FFs. The COH has been warned of litigation if they decide to carry through with this nonsense. Our Statute that governs HFRRF is clear, all FFs employed by HFD belong to HFRRF. My best, Todd Clark. Chair.
