To all friends of the Pride of Oklahoma - I have received many questions recently from Pride of Oklahoma alumni, supporters, and friends regarding making financial gifts to the Pride of Oklahoma. This is GREAT news, but some seem concerned about how best to direct their gifts. We have several established scholarship funds and a discretionary fund as well as a new scholarship fund in process that Nick Nicholson is currently setting up that many of you may know about as well. Our greatest immediate need is for discretionary funds that enable us to continue getting the Pride of Oklahoma back on track as quickly as possible. If youre considering a financial gift and dont have a strong inclination about an existing account to which to donate, directing it to the Pride of Oklahoma Fund at the OU Foundation will make an immediate positive impact to that end. The most important thing to know is that we are grateful for any financial gift of any size directed to any account whether scholarship or discretionary. If you are considering or recently have made a contribution, THANK YOU for your support! We are so fortunate that so many people love and support the Pride through financial gifts and the right answer is to simply give to the account that resonates the most with you. The bottom line is that without this generous financial support, there would be no Pride of Oklahoma, so THANK YOU for your gifts! There are scholarship accounts in honor or memory of former Pride members and directors as well as accounts in memory of enthusiastic Pride supporters whose generosity still makes a positive impact for our students. If you have a strong affinity with your former director, a fellow Pride alumnus, or one of these other supporters, one of these funds will likely be the perfect choice for you to direct your gift in a meaningful way that will have a lasting positive impact. We are working to get a landing page on the band website and the WFCFA giving page as well to make contributing as simple as possible. Listed on the page will be all of the accounts to which gifts can be made. In the meantime, you can always call the Band Office 405.325.2731 for assistance. Finally, whether or not you make a financial gift to the Pride, please know that your enthusiastic support of these students on game day is greatly appreciated as we join together to celebrate our university and support the Sooners.
