To all my Facebook Friends, Family, and Wellwishers: On Saturday, July 13, 2013, I will be hosting a Book Signing at my home for Dr. Mildred Chang. It would be great for Mildred to be reunited with those she grew up with in Jamaica, and especially her Holmwood Technical School Peers who reside here in Atlanta. Please save the date, and I will be updating the information in weeks to come. To All My FB Family and Friends: I will be hosting a Book Signing for Dr. Mildred Smith-Chang at my home in Stone Mountain, Ga on Saturday, July 13, 2013. Her very popular book, "The Mask is Off" is getting rave reviews and she would love to share it with everyone. It would be a pleasure to have the company of all my friends and family, all the people who grew up with Mildred, and those who went to Holmwood Technical High School with her. This will be an evening of reunion and a taste of Jamaica Cuisine to put you all in a nostalgic mood. I will update the information in the coming weeks. Author Biography Dr. Mildred Smith-Chang was born in Mandeville, Jamaica, West Indies. She attended Holmwood Technical High School in Christiana, Manchester. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of the West Indies, Mona, Kingston, Jamaica, and later, El Instituto Mexicano De Relaciones Culturales, A.C, Mexico. She worked as a Spanish Teacher in Primary and High schools in Jamaica, before coming to America. Dr. Smith-Chang attended the State University of New York at Albany, where she received two Bachelors Degrees and two Masters Degrees in Spanish and Political Science. She also received her Doctorate Degree in Humanities in Spanish and Education, from that same institution. Dr. Smith-Chang is also a graduate of The Center for Women in Government, Nelson Rockefeller Graduate School of Public Affairs and Public Policy, State University of New York, Albany, New York. She is a former Legislative Aide of The New York State Senate and New York State Assembly. She is involved in many Civic, Church and Community-based organizations and is an active member of Walls Temple AME Zion Church, in Albany, New York. She also serves as Senior Warden of Grace and Holy Innocents Episcopal Church in Albany, New York. Currently, she is the senior Spanish teacher at Central Park International Magnet School in Schenectady, New York. She is the author of a Spanish Book for beginners and intermediate students entitled: Spanish Simple And Natural. In 2001, she ran as a candidate for Albany Common Council. Dr. Smith- Chang lives in Albany with her two sons, Marlon and Sean.
