To all my friends: It has come to my attention that I am - TopicsExpress

To all my friends: It has come to my attention that I am perceived as selfish. Or, as it was communicated to me: “looking out for yourself.” Granted, I am kind of selfish but in a way all people are selfish because of the self-preservation instinct. I don’t want to be known as selfish because in 2 Timothy it states, “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.” I apologize if I have ever demonstrated any of these characteristics. I do not want to be in that class of citizen. God, please forgive me. Also, there is a perception that I don’t properly give recognition. For those people: I am sorry. I will do better by you in my feedback sessions, and I will lay out a step-by-step groundwork of tasks for you to accomplish in order to check the boxes and win a major award. I never want to be the person to overlook honest and hardworking efforts—but remember all of the boxes need to be checked. Just ignore (I am saying ignore very sarcastically) what the current CSAF said, “Job performance is what we should value most. It’s not quarterly awards, volunteer work off duty, although those things are wonderful, but when it comes to promoting people at the senior grades, both officer and enlisted, job performance is what should matter most to us.” This brings me to my next point. Apparently when having intellectual dialogue or perceived mentorship session with people about “things” it is neither intellectual nor mentorship. Everything is on the record. All of the time. Things in conversation will come back to harm you. Even when analyzing pro/cons from different viewpoints. The moral of this story is that some people will not understand context, only words. I am not perfect. I am sorry if I have failed anyone. If I have failed you somehow, please send me a private message and then we can reconcile our matters.
