To all my friends who are teachers.....THIS is why you dont get the support you think you deserve from the public. You have allowed your unions to advocate for you to the point you are presented as infallible. If a citizen cares about education, they are supposed to support teachers. Teachers are beyond reproach. While this is certainly not true, and is certainly not how most teachers want to present themselves, your union has failed to step in and correct this association making it very easy for those who want to take control of the educational system and implement reforms that benefit a few at the expense of the many to spread the impression that teachers are are whining about not having enough entitlements that the rest of the public has to go without.
