To all my local family and friends...this Friday and Saturday (12-26 and 27) I will be preparing a new 2015 garden at the church. Im inviting (asking and/or begging) anyone interested in growing organic vegetables to come and volunteer with the basic preparation for the garden. This will include measuring, marking off and mowing the area. Laying newspaper down to cover the grassy ground and then spreading out manure, coffee grounds, compost, grass clippings and other organic waste which will be covered with a thick layer of wood chips. This technique is call Back to Eden Gardening. This type of gardening basically needs almost no watering, weeding, tilling or any other back breaking work. (Except the initial preparation phase.) If anyone wants to come out and work, learn something new, supervise or just watch, let me know and Ill set up some kind of schedule for the 2 days.
