To all my runner friends.. I just discovered and tested an app called Road ID and you can turn it on when you go for a run and select up to 5 contacts from your phone which you can change for each run and it sends them a text alert to let them know you are going for a run..The contacts who you select can track your exact location on a map if they are concerned for your safety or if you stop moving, are kidnapped, dont return home, etc. until you turn it off. Then you set your expected duration/distance which you can easily add on to by pressing a button while running. It alerts your contacts if you stop moving for 5 minutes (like if you get hit by a car or pass out) and allows you to set your wallpaper to a list of emergency contacts for your run only in case of an emergency. The app is free and well worth having, especially for someone like me who doesnt live in the best neighborhood. I just thought Id let you all know :)
