To all my teacher friends.... ARE YOU DRINKING THE STANDARD BASED KOOLAID? I think the Administration my school is great and doing a good job. However I think the state has lost its mind with the standard based class room junk. When I look at teachers that use to love the job and considered teaching and art, walk around with a blank look on their face then it is time to change what we are doing. When I no longer hear students talk about the great teachers... then it is time for a change. When I hear students say that the opening is a time to zone out.. then it is time for a change. I hear people say "research based practice" I must ask my self who did the research? Are we making a standard, average class room? Are the students able to apply the standard? Are we drinking the standard based koolaid?
