To all of my Mary Kay Sales Director friends and Consultant friends! Powerful words that were in an email this evening! FINISH STRONG! BEGIN JULY STRONGER! EXCELLENCE IS ABOUT LOVE; its a passionate obsession with quality efforts and results. Excellence is always the result of high intention, uncompromising standards, best practices, sincere effort, intelligent design, attention to detail and skillful execution; its the calling card of greatness and it represents the wise choice of many alternatives. And, if you have any plans on being competitive, then performance excellence in the broadest sense of the term must become an obsession. Dynamic, sustainable results will only be achieved through an obsession with excellence. A commitment to excellence means never having to make an excuse, never having to defend a mediocre performance, and never having to say, Im sorry. A commitment to excellence is a commitment to quality as both derive from putting your heart and soul into your work. It means that you are lovingly doing all of the things that bring out your absolute best. The word love is appropriate, because it is precisely right in both the meaning and the feeling that it carries. DO ALL THINGS LOVINGLY; that is the secret to excellence, and expecting nothing but excellence from yourself is the first step toward achieving it. A loving devotion to excellence allows no detail to be overlooked. It wants everything to be just so, nothing that might affect that which makes the performance spectacular can be neglected or regarded as trivial. Why? Because everything counts! A compulsion to be tidy, orderly and well organized is a natural impulse and by-product in a workplace where excellence and quality is taken to heart. While the ideal of excellence and quality is always humbling, they should never be thought of as defeating. There is no rest when it comes to excellence; therefore, excellence must become a priority, an obsession, and the standard by which you measure EVERYTHING you do. The passionate pursuit of excellence is what gives work meaning and gratifies the human soul. When the work we do is the work we love, the results are a shining testament of excellence. A new week is about to unfold, and along with it, a good number of opportunities for you to display excellence and unleash your greatness.
