To all of my friends from AOL Journals, it appears that an old email (aimer@aol) account that I used back then has been reactivated by some annoying spammer and is being used to send out emails luring you to click on the link or links contained therein. I havent used aimer@aol since 2008. I asked AOL to shut down the account back in 2008 because it had been hacked. My suspicion is that the account was never closed and continues to lurk in cyberspace like a Borg ship. It appears to have been reactivated but not by me. I have notified AOL but doubt that will prevent this account from continuing to operate. Your email provider should allow you to block addresses. I suggest that you block aimer@aol. Check your settings or options for your email and look for language regarding blocking or setting security options. I also suggest that you change your email password. A few rules to follow: 1. even if you know the sender, dont click on hyperlinks in emails, type (do not cut and paste) the URL into your address bar. 2. be suspicious of emails when the only content is a hyperlink. Most people when sharing a link will provide some context as to why they think that you will find it of interest. 3. please use a virus protection/ spyware protection program. There are a lot of decent free programs out there. I use free.avg/us-en/homepage
