To all of the friends and family that supported my efforts toward African painted dog conservation this past year I want to send out this thank you. The Painted Dog Protection Initiative had an incredible first year in 2014. Our protective anti-snare tracking collars, designed to protect painted dogs in Zimbabwe from snare wire entanglement and vehicular collision - two of the top threats listed by the IUCN, have been tested and will soon begin production. In addition, our efforts to promote painted dog awareness and celebration here in the United States has grown to include support from 15 different zoological facilities and over $10,000 in funds raised. We thank you for all of your support as we look forward to an even bigger 2015.
