To all our followers on Facebook, we arrived this morning in Cadiz, Spain at 9am after two days at sea. We had a pleasant crossing from Southampton. The weather is very hot and looks like being the same throughout our journey for the next 15 days. The Spanish coastline stretching from the Portuguese border up to Gibraltar is known as Costa de la Luzon (Coast of Light) . Cadiz capital of the province of the same name, is the oldest inhabited town in the western world with 3,000 years of history. It stands at the top of the long peninsular which makes it virtually an island, its position has entirely shaped its history. The town, with 140,000 inhabitants, is one of the largest ports in the Atlantic coast of Spain. We will be spending around eight hours photographing around Cadiz and of course checking out various coffee/beer bars. We will be departing Cadiz tonight sailing for Messina in Sicily arriving there on Thursday 5th June where we will send another bulletin.
