To all patients registered at The Broadway Practice, and Broadstairs residents: I fully share the concerns of residents regarding the future of The Broadway Practice in Broadstairs following Concordia Health Limited’s request that its management contract be brought to an end in March next year. It is very disappointing that The Broadway Practice has never stabilised under Concordia’s management despite significant feedback from patients alongside many meetings and communications where concerns have been raised. As patients know all too well, Concordia appears to have had significant difficulties in retaining GPs for a sustained period of time. Our health is by definition a personal issue and our relationship with our GPs and nurses is of paramount importance. The Broadway Practice’s patients deserve better. With the right management in place, the practice could provide patients with stability and reassurance, whilst also encouraging new patients to join. I believe that given its size and location, the Practice has real potential to be a hub for a wide range of health services. I will be meeting with NHS England to raise the concerns of local residents and urging them to listen to patients and do everything they can to find a suitable alternative provider. In light of recent history, I will also be encouraging them to take a very considered approach in securing the best possible team with a proven track record. This is vital in order to ensure that patients receive the treatment and services that they deserve.
