To all the Capital Park residents Please respond as soon as possible to this e-mail that we can forward your responses with the Letter to Sam to give to the Mayor Mike and Daleen BY THE COMMUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY Dear Sir As a resident in Capital Park, I am very concerned about the situation in Paul Kruger Street in Capital Park. Since the construction of the A Re Yeng, we have had little and in some cases no action taken whatsoever from the CLOs and the Contractors. We have requested from even before the project started, that temporary lights be installed. This up to date still has not happened. Our residents are being robbed and mugged along Paul Kruger Street at night because of the darkness. The traffic situation has deteriorated dramatically. Accidents occur regularly, for the following reasons: 1 Motorists travelling along Paul Kruger Street ignoring the 40 km/h speed restriction, endangering the lives of other motorists, construction workers and pedestrians. Can they please install temporary speed bumps before the intersections in Paul Kruger Street, Flowers Street and Trouw Street. 2 There is no lighting at night. Please install lights as soon as possible. 3 The yellow plastic barriers that are currently in use, which are apparently SABS approved, are too high. When turning from Paul Kruger Street into Flowers or Trouw Streets at night, you cannot see the cars coming from the opposite direction, especially if they are low vehicles. And this is the MAJOR contributing factor towards the accidents at these intersections at night. At a meeting this issue was discussed and the feedback was that there is nothing wrong with these Barriers. I strongly disagree and if they don’t believe me they must come and experience trying to cross these intersections at night. Dear Sir, can you please help us resolve this problem before there is loss of life. There has been enough injuries and damaged vehicles. PLEASE HELP!!
