To all the new followers we have gained this evening, welcome! ARP has been going pretty much since the first red zone announcement was made - I grew up in Bexley, and my parents had been living there for 48 years when the February earthquake hit, and turfed them out of their home, unceremoniously, and in an instant. At the time I was living out of Christchurch, but I have since returned. My dream has been that out of this act of nature, which has caused such misery, beauty may evolve. I dream of a stunning place that returns some of what was before to Christchurch, so that among the glorious colonial legacy, we also get some of what was here back. I want to create a place that kereru, bellbirds, tui even, thrive in and spread out from. That the people of Christchurch can enjoy by walking, running, biking, kayaking, canoeing. Most of all, I want that in 50 years people look back and say that out of what was a tragedy, something beautiful was born. If you have experienced your own personal tragedy, I hope we can create something beautiful for you!
