To all the students who failed this semester, Some of you are griping because of the 5.00 grade, yet have never looked at yourselves in your inability to fulfill what was required of you as a student who is trying to master the skills to be a great designer/artist. Some of you are quite talented, yet this ability is only a portion of what is demanded of you in the design industry. Are you dedicated and disciplined to deliver the requirements of the client/company? Have you made that choice to be a great artist? I just participated in the YMCA On-the-spot drawing contest as a judge in that competition. The picture below is a 12 year old young lady who won the 2nd place for the Elementary Division. This was unanimous among the judges; however what the other judges didn’t know was this young lady had no arms. She was able to illustrate this very colorful piece with shading just using her feet! That is dedication and discipline! I was humbled by her work. For you students who have a healthy body and all the support from your friends and family, what is your excuse for failing?
