To all those who are already making judgmental and disparaging remarks against Robin Williams, count yourselves fortunate that you have yet to experience such an intense and all-consuming pain. Your comments, while likely trying to dissuade suicide, only inflict more pain on the family and friends of those who have experienced such a tragedy. If you truly want to discourage suicide be more encouraging of those around you. Remember that not everyone processes emotion in the same manner as you. Tell those you care about that you care, often. Recognize that to be artistic you open up your heart and leave it vulnerable. Most importantly, understand that it is often those with the bravest face, the broadest smile and the most giving personalities to go without help and support.
