To all those who served on this day 70 years ago, thank you. Especially on my mind is Mr. Emil Saul one of my favorite customers at the bank. He was a navigation officer on a ship there that day. They were hit by a bomb that exploded on the deck below him. He told me of bodies stacked along the beach 6 ft high, and the water was red from the blood..we have no idea the conditions they endured. He was in Bethesda recovering for 2 years. He has a metal plate in his skill that after all these years shifts on Occassion and breaks thru his skin. He also lost the front 1/2 of both his feet. He is a humble, kind gentleman who came back and married his sweetheart and raised a beautiful family. So many of you out there...THANK YOU!ni am honored to call you my friend..
