To all true Yankee fans - my random thoughts: This is without a doubt the worst hitting Yankee team in the past 20 years - Texiera is abysmal, McCann is inconsistent, Beltran is a bust, Headley has the exact same .235 batting average he had when we picked him up - Steven Drew is batting in the .170s our pitchers have kept us in 75% of the games but get little to no offensive support - they literally have to throw a shut out to win. Our batting average with runners in scoring position flirts with the Mendoza & we are last in the American League in runs scored in the bottom 4 in the Major Leagues. Our daily lineup performance resembles extended infield practice as we ground out routinely extensively. We have scored 3 or fewer runs in probably 2/3s of our games & during one stretch we did not score more than 6 runs in a game in 5 weeks. Injuries are not the excuse just look at Baltimore losing Weiters & Machado. Even the God awful Twins have out scored us - how pathetic is that. Kevin Long needs to go & we need a top flight hitting coach. I live & die watching my Yankees & this year has been particularly painful. We do not have 1 consistent clutch hitter you want to see up with runs needed & that is a sad commentary on these overpaid failures.
