To all who joined in todays direct action (2 strikes with the fast food workers Raise Up For 15 and a silent sit-in protest with the Board of Trustees at MUSC)…in the words of Ice Cube: “Today was a GOOD day!” Thank you for your courage and for your desire to stand up and to do whats right. To Cherri Delesline and Lakia Williams, and to all the fast food workers who Raised Up for 15 today...NO LIMIT SOLDIERS, THOUGHT THAT I TOLD YA! To Christine Nelson, Emily Ricards, Marquette Cooper, Leonard Riley, Erin McKee, George Hopkins, Kieran Taylor, Tony Lewis, Jackson Hamilton, Thom Taylor, William J. Hamilton & Merrill Chapman...representing Healthcare Workers United, the ILA, the AFL-CIO, the SC Progressive Network-Charleston Chapter., the Carolina Alliance for Fair Employment - Charleston Chapter and the city of Charlestons Eastside community...thank you all also! A special shout out and thank you to our SC State representatives...power brokers who joined us on the strike line at 6am this morning before driving to the Statehouse in Columbia today: Representatives David Mack III, Wendell Gilliard and Seth Whipper.
